[WBH] Optional Morality: The Wholesome Task Force (WTF)

“No creative work is ever finished: Only abandoned”- George Lucas

In the vein (but hopefully not the quality) of the above noted hack I present an optional additional Morality for Whore’s Blade Heroics.

The Wholesome Task Force or WTF: These rules require your opponent’s consent to use as they are outside of the “canon” of the core rulebook.

The Wholesome Task Force
WTF LogoNickname
As the Superladies inducted into the WTF are all perceived to have violated The Cleaner’s “Good Old Fashioned British Christian Morals” the few who know of the existence of the organisation know them as The Naughty List

Description
The excesses of the Grit Age, with their attempts to be as gritty and edgy as the scandal that created it got pretty offensive pretty quickly. Thus the bored Housewife and professional whining old prude Mary Whitehouse stopped attacking television programs she didn’t actually watch and decided to go after Superladies. With money “appropriated” from many victim’s charities she began to build her own holding facility for the “worst offenders” and arranged their kidnap off the streets and induction to her unique brand of reform through work therapy. Regardless of their former allegiance Heroines, Villainesses and Anti Heroines were forced to work together on “wholesome family orientated” tasks that inevitably crashed and burned into orgies of sex and violence. With the groundwork laid Whitehouse handed her costumed identity as The Sanitiser and her organisation to a like-minded young lady called Deirdre Carthorse. Working below the radar of all 3 Superlady factions as well as civilian authorities the WTF continues to field unusual “Naughty List” team ups in the mistaken hope of making them think of the children… whilst throwing them out of a burning building… um yeah…

Advantage
Who the Fuck are they?: It is somewhat distressing to find yourself confronted by a mix of missing Superladies from all 3 Moralities working together. Opponents of WTF Superteams do not apply their +5 Morality Membership bonus to their starting Courage Pool.

Disadvantage
Odd Mix: WTF Superteams consist of a wide variety of Superladies from competing Moralities forced to work together. Unlike regular teams they may only include Superladies: One Leader and as many Sidekicks as the Player wishes to purchase. Allies and Goons may not be Purchased.

Whore’s Blade Heroics can be purchased in PDF and Print format.

[WBH] Superladies

The Tackler

Superladies are the costumed protagonists of comic books. To represent them in Whore’s Blade Heroics a template is added to the base features Character.

The Superlady Template consists of the following features.

Codename
A snappy name the Superlady is known by on the street. Some like Texi Tarquin or Feathers McGee don’t bother with this but most have secret identities to maintain so come up with elaborate names.

Origins
Everyone starts somewhere and Superladies are no exception. There are 6 Origins I shall address in individual articles however in summary…

*Accidents: Women who accidentally fell into a radioactive… something…

*Aliens: Superladies FROM SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!

*Experiments: Science experiments done right… well kind of.

*Mutants: Icky genetic supers.

*Supernaturals: Beings of magic and myth.

*Suprnormals: Superladies with brilliant training and lots of gadgets.

Powers
Powers get a whole chapter to explain themselves but on the whole they are very generic and can be applied to a wide variety of storyworld styles.

[WBH] Superteam Creation

Flier

I do realise a lot of the time I talk about system stuff I assume I’m talking to the same fan-base who know the previous incarnation. Well I’ll try to remedy that with this…

Like the vast majority of Tabletop Wargames Whore’s Blade Heroics has a points system for building Superteams (this game’s version of Warbands.) In theory this should make it an evenly balanced game but even with extensive playtesting one can never be 100% sure. In the end this is a game about spandex clad japes with sexy Superladies so frankly advanced statistical maths can go fuck itself.

Anyhow Superteams consist of the following elements…

1 Leader: A Superlady with a great deal of in built power: The Cover girl and lead protagonist of the Superteam’s Comic.

0-2 Sidekicks: Superladies who are either inexperienced or just outright weaker than the Leader. They may not be as powerful as their boss but hey more shiny superpowers!

0-2 Allies: Allies are non-costumed normal humans who can use their connections in society to provide their Superteams with tactical advantages.

As Many Goons as you Want:
Goons are typical foot soldiers whether Coppers, Thugs or something really strange. They are individually no match for a Superlady but in numbers they can deal a lot of damage.

I shall address each of these elements and the 3 Morality Factions that can be applied to Superteams to boost their Courage and grant them unique advantages in separate blog articles.

There’s a lot in there!
