[Comics] Plans

#1 Cover

I had a bit of time so I thought I’d give you lovely fans an update on where I am going with my comics.

Due to both budget restraints and my aim to keep stories concise each of 3 “big girls” of my comic book world will have a 3 issue origin story…

These are…

Kittiwake Girl: The Beginning: An alien child of incredible power is raised by a humble English Village before hitting the perilous big city as the world’s first Superlady.

Magnificent Magda: Genesis: An exhibit of a Nevada Freakshow finds out that she is in fact a half angel and is taught by a mysterious mentor how to balance the hidden world with the real one.

The Widow’s Vengeance: Widowed at the very moment she hears “I do” Kitty McAvoy sets off on a terrible vengeance spree that even the emerging community of Superheroines seem powerless to stop.

If these are a success I plan to go on to the War years with a crossover series entitled Peace in our Time as well as telling the story of the rise of the villainous Major Britannia.
Stay tuned for updates on Kittiwake Girl: The Beginning #1 and the Tabletop Wargame Whore’s Blade Heroics.

[Comics] Character Name/ Concept Change

Annie Havelock

Over the past few days in writing Whore’s Blade: Heroics and processing ideas for comics I’ve become less and less convinced of the Character of Bomber Bird. She was begining to look like the daughter of the Adam West Batman and the Brave and The Bold Harley Quinn (there’s a horrible slashfic idea.) This looks like a lot of fun on paper but I really need a stronger character for one of my big three heroic leads and as she was Bomber Bird stood out too damn much.

Thus I am reinventing Kitty McAvoy as a far darker character known as the Widow. Widowed at the very moment she became a married woman Kitty goes on a vengence fueled rampage that brings her into conflict with the more more clean cut heroine Kittiwake Girl.

If any artists fancy drawing her please get in touch. I shall of course keep you all posted on her development. The picture above is Annie Havelock and I’d imagine Kitty would go for something less cumbersome and more practical.

[WBH] Morality: The Idealistic Heroines’ League (IHL)

IHL Logo

The Idealistic Heroine’s League is the result of a Post War hissyfit of epic proportions from Kittiwake Girl. More than any other Superlday Kittiwake girl has been dedicated to non lethal force. The “KG rule,” as it has become known as, is essentially “heroines do not kill.”

The somewhat jaded and more practical Gray Areas called Kittiwake Girl out on this bullshit and promptly got kicked out of the SPO. Ever since she has been a figurehead for all those Heroines who, for whatever reason, don’t like playing by the rules even when they are relatively lax.

Known as antiheroines the IHL are feared by both of the other Morality Factions. The idea of taking no prisoners seems scary to everyday Superladies whatever end of the fully automatic firearm you’re on!

IHL Superteams are typically somewhat chaotic and bristling with semi legal Weapons. Much like their colourful leaders!

[WBH] Superteam Creation

Flier

I do realise a lot of the time I talk about system stuff I assume IÂ’m talking to the same fan-base who know the previous incarnation. Well IÂ’ll try to remedy that with thisÂ…

Like the vast majority of Tabletop Wargames WhoreÂ’s Blade Heroics has a points system for building Superteams (this gameÂ’s version of Warbands.) In theory this should make it an evenly balanced game but even with extensive playtesting one can never be 100% sure. In the end this is a game about spandex clad japes with sexy Superladies so frankly advanced statistical maths can go fuck itself.

Anyhow Superteams consist of the following elementsÂ…

1 Leader: A Superlady with a great deal of in built power: The Cover girl and lead protagonist of the SuperteamÂ’s Comic.

0-2 Sidekicks: Superladies who are either inexperienced or just outright weaker than the Leader. They may not be as powerful as their boss but hey more shiny superpowers!

0-2 Allies: Allies are non-costumed normal humans who can use their connections in society to provide their Superteams with tactical advantages.

As Many Goons as you Want:
Goons are typical foot soldiers whether Coppers, Thugs or something really strange. They are individually no match for a Superlady but in numbers they can deal a lot of damage.

I shall address each of these elements and the 3 Morality Factions that can be applied to Superteams to boost their Courage and grant them unique advantages in separate blog articles.

ThereÂ’s a lot in there!
